Who We Are
HWA FOUNDATION (HWA) is a local non-governmental organization dedicated to serving marginalized community groups, such as women, children, minorities, workers, and impoverished rural populations in Sindh, Pakistan. It was established in 2004 and officially registered under the Societies Act 1860 in 2005. Subsequently, it obtained registration under Section 42 of the Companies Act, in 2017, with the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).
The Organization comprises a team of experts in human rights and development work. Its inception was a response to various social challenges prevalent in the region, which include human rights violations, extreme poverty, inadequate infrastructure, substandard education, limited healthcare access, tribal conflicts, scarcity of resources and institutional support, low awareness levels, weak governance, and the well-being concerns of women and children. These challenges have posed significant hurdles to the development process.
Over the years, the HWA has made progress, starting from its establishment as an organization to its development phase. Currently, the team is actively engaged in practical work within the area, adopting an organized approach to create positive change. Their efforts are guided by the inspiring motto of "A Journey towards the change."
